Where Faith Meets Academic Excellence
West Palm Beach Junior Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian school committed to helping students grow academically, spiritually, physically, and socially. We believe education should prepare children for a life of purpose, helping them develop strong character, discover their abilities, and use their talents to serve God and others.
Our students are encouraged to put learning into practice through meaningful experiences that build confidence, responsibility, creativity, and leadership. One way we bring this approach to life is through The Royals Report.
About The Royals Report
The Royals Report (TRR) is our student led news program, where students in grades 3–8 explore communication, journalism, and media production. Under the guidance of Creative and Media Director Mr. Tito, students help produce newscasts that share school news, celebrate achievements, highlight activities, and connect biblical lessons with everyday life.
From the first story idea to the final edit, students experience the teamwork and preparation involved in producing a newscast. They practice working in different production departments, discovering how each person’s contribution helps bring a story to the screen.
Real Experience. Practical Skills.
Students explore responsibilities both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, including:
Camera operation: Framing shots, following action, and capturing footage that supports a story.
Clapboard operation: Identifying scenes and takes to help organize footage and support editing.
Scripting: Developing story ideas, writing interview questions, and preparing clear news scripts.
Lighting and gaffer duties: Helping position and adjust lighting so people and sets appear clearly on camera.
Directing: Giving cues, communicating with the crew, and guiding the production.
Reporting and interviewing: Gathering information, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing stories accurately.
Anchoring: Presenting news clearly while practicing pronunciation, pacing, posture, and confidence.
Equipment management: Preparing, organizing, caring for, and properly storing production equipment.
Set design: Arranging backgrounds, props, and furniture to create a purposeful setting.
Sound and editing: Practicing microphone use, monitoring audio, and combining footage, music, and graphics into a finished story.
As students take on different roles, they apply reading, writing, technology, and creative thinking to real production tasks. They learn to meet deadlines, follow instructions, solve unexpected problems, receive feedback, and respect the responsibilities of others. Each newscast gives them opportunities to practice accountability and see how their individual efforts contribute to a shared goal.
Student Voices with Purpose
At the heart of The Royals Report is a commitment to truthful communication, Christian service, and thoughtful storytelling. Students learn that their words and actions can encourage others, strengthen their school community, and reflect the character of Christ.
Through these experiences, West Palm Beach Junior Academy helps students build skills they can carry into future classrooms, workplaces, churches, and communities, preparing them to serve wherever God leads.
